Ben Hartley is a Bristol-based artist whose practice predominantly centres around objects and materials and their ability to hold and tell stories. Their work makes use of fictioning to create art that probes in and around the edges of the anthropocene and melds the past and future together; touching on themes of the life cycle of materials; mythology & future archaeology.

They are a studio holder at Bricks Bristol, and are part of the artist duo OOPARTs with performance artist and folklorist Buoys Buoys Buoys. Ben graduated from the University of the West of England in 2O19 and were part of the 2O21/22 Into the Wild cohort with Chisenhale Studios.
